Katia was born in Gran Canaria in 1990. She moved to Lanzarote for love and once she set her eyes on our beautiful island, she fell in love with it too. One word to describe her is “multisport athlete”: her greatest passion is the ocean but she also loves animals and nature. She’s addicted to adrenaline and all kinds of extreme sports, to travel and to meet new people.
Surfer at heart, she found her calling in martial arts: brazilian jiujitsu, MMA, grappling, wrestling, kick boxing… She’s been Canarian Champion of Grappling 71kg (2018, 2019, 2020), Spanish Champion of Grappling NOGI 71kg (2018, 2019, 2020) and Spanish Champion of Grappling GI +71kg 2018, and also succeeded in the European Championship of Grappling in Rome in 2020. She likes to think of herself as a warrior, although she’s more into non violence and peace.
She’s Técnico Deportivo and she did her traineeship in Slovenia, in the Triglav National Park, where she specialized in mountain sports. She’s also a pilates instructor, skating, surf, swimming, spinning, canyoning and climbing instructor. You’ll find her in the gym dealing with kids’ classes or birthday parties, and she’ll be happy to help you!
